local case study
GermanyWe are continuing to implement the energy transition together with the local community of Beratzhausen. Thanks to the commitment and trusting cooperation with the municipal administration, the Kreuth solar park has been built on an area of about 17 hectares. The innovative combined PV project with a large-scale battery storage system has a PV capacity of approx. 15.9 MWp and a battery storage capacity of 17.9 MWh. 16,100 MWh of green electricity can be generated annually, which corresponds to the consumption of around 4,350 average German households.
Compensatory measures
Financial participation in accordance with Section 6 EEG
What has already been the case with other wind and solar farms, BayWa r.e. has made use of the option of giving the municipality – in this case Beratzhausen – a financial share of the feed-in proceeds in accordance with Section 6 EEG.
Local value creation
We paid particular attention to allowing as many local stakeholders as possible to participate in the value creation created by the energy transition. We achieve this, for example, through cooperation with regional actors or the local awarding of services (planning office, expert, green maintenance).
Guided solar park tours
In order to express our sincere thanks to the citizens of Beratzhausen for the successful project and to make the energy transition tangible for the local people, we took part in the Beratzhausener Volksfest (folk festival) in July 2024 and invited visitors to visit the solar park. The participants were able to travel from our booth at the Volksfest to the nearby solar park by shuttle bus. There they received an exclusive tour from our project managers and a well-founded insight into solar and storage technology. They were able to test the newly gained knowledge directly in a solar park quiz - and of course the effort was rewarded with great prizes. The following pictures give some impressions of the successful campaign:
