local case study
GermanyBayWa r.e. is happy to have realised a wind energy project in the northern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg: the wind farm Langenbrander Höhe. Four Nordex N149 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 4.5 megawatts (MW), were installed in a predominantly coniferous forest that is used intensively by ForstBW. The turbines have a hub height of 164 metres and a rotor diameter of 149 metres, bringing their total height to 238.9 metres.
Our aim is for everyone to benefit from the energy transition - especially those living near a wind farm. That's why we offer all private households within a radius of 3,000 metres of the wind farm our BayWa r.e. citizen electricity tariff - guaranteed to be 10% lower than your local basic supplier. The electricity we supply consists of 100 % renewable energies and is also proven to come from the Langenbrander Höhe wind farm.
The BayWa r.e. citizen electricity tariff offer is valid for the entire operating time of the wind farm. Find out more
The subscription period for the crowdfunding of the Langenbrander Höhe Wind Farm ran from February 15 to March 31, 2024. This initiative allowed local residents to benefit financially from the project. The crowdfunding was exclusively available to people from the surrounding postal code areas and spans a period of seven years. The first payout has already been successfully made.
We are delighted by the strong participation and the trust placed in our project. Learn more
