Wind park Immenberg

Project overview

In the Immenberg wind farm repowering project, BayWa r.e. has replaced eight old wind turbines, each with an output of 1.5 MW and a hub height of 65 meters, with eight new N117 turbines, each with an output of 3.6 MW and a hub height of 141 meters. This has more than doubled the installed capacity of the wind farm. The wind farm produces around 70 GWh of green electricity per year, which corresponds to the annual consumption of 22,700 average German households.

Seven wind turbines were sold to the NaturEnergie Region Hannover eG cooperative. Following the successful completion of this repowering project, the turbines were thus transferred to public ownership. BayWa r.e. is underlining its commitment to involving citizens and communities in projects as active players in the energy transition and attaching central importance to regional value creation in the development of wind projects.
