Wind farm Freimersheim

Project overview

In May 2022, the last of the five wind turbines at the Freimersheim wind farm was connected to the grid.

Electric construction vehicles, such as electric excavators, were used for the first time to build the wind farm. Calculated over its total service life of 10,000 operating hours, the 7-ton electric excavator has 86% lower CO2 emissions than a diesel-powered excavator. It thus saves 170 tons of CO2 and is also up to 10 decibels quieter than a diesel vehicle.
