Our basic package for existing customer mandates: seamless monitoring of all operational requirements relating to bats, red kites, shadow, noise, ice fall, and sector management, including monthly reporting. You will also receive monthly overviews of all Redispatch 2.0 and direct marketing curtailments for optimal credit checking, as well as a comparison of peak and flat-rate curtailments for annual evaluation of the best shutdown regime. For your external wind farms, all these functions can be added to the InSite Pro package.
Active management of permit requirements
We monitor the yield-optimized operation of your permit-related shutdowns while focusing on permit compliance.
Our focus is on shutdowns due to:
Bat flight
Shadow casting
Sector management
Noise
Bird protection
Ice fall
Short-term performance analysis
We monitor each individual wind turbine in detail and fully automatically. Detected performance reductions generate immediate alerts, enabling our Performance Unit to work quickly with the maintenance service provider.
Redispatch 2.0
We calculate the yield losses due to Redispatch 2.0 and direct marketing measures using the flat-rate and peak methods so that you can directly compare both methods. This gives you the assurance that your RD 2.0 credits are correct and provides you with annual decision templates for choosing the calculation method.
Example of yield increase through bat deactivation in Saarland
In the Saarland wind farm comprising of three Nordex wind turbines, we reduced yield losses by 54% through bat deactivation optimization. In this way, we achieved an annual yield increase of >1%, which already amounts to about 14,000 € per year in that wind farm.

In detail:
Identification of underperformance by analysing operating data:
Whether incorrectly set night-time reductions, power reduction due to ice build-up or pitch angle errors, BayWa r.e. InSite software monitors your system operation and energy output continuously, punctually and accurately. Possible degradation of your wind turbines over time can also be detected, e.g. through rotor blade soiling, etc.
Never stop benchmarking! Performance comparison of wind farms:
BayWa r.e. InSite Pro Taxonomy enables a comprehensive comparison of individual or multiple wind farms, helping evaluate the performance of your turbines in the widest possible context. In contrast to performance curve monitoring, we now also analyse the performance of your turbines with regard to all downtimes. Our analyses of over 20 years of operating data and a wind portfolio of 2.5 GW provide valuable insights for a comprehensive risk analysis with the aim of minimising yield losses, downtimes and error rates. These analyses also enable you to evaluate sustainable investment decisions and increase the efficiency of your wind farms.
On the methodology: here we have clustered the status codes of all the relevant WTG manufacturers on an RDS-PP basis in order to create comparability between all WTG manufacturers and types. When major components fail from a statistical perspective, whether the bathtub curve of damage over the service life of a wind turbine really exists, which manufacturer suffers from the most converter damage – all these findings and many more can be derived from this.
Detect faults early and prevent downtime
InSite Pro will report thermal anomalies in all relevant wind turbine components. Our machine learning approach is always complemented by the expertise of our experienced engineers. Our goal is to detect temperature deviations more accurately than the wind turbine itself. Due to the size of our portfolio, we are also able to carry out comprehensive temperature benchmarking with identical wind turbines.
Ensure grid compliance and avoid unnecessary losses
We analyse whether the wind farm is being operated in accordance with grid connection conditions and responding to the grid operator's target values. We also check whether the grid operator is claiming any unauthorised reactive power (increased yield losses or electricity procurement) and how reactive power operation affects the active power supply or the power curve of the wind turbine.
This means custom solutions that always focus on reducing the loss of earnings from your assets. Yields suffer particularly as a result of bat-related shutdowns. Thanks to extensive analyses, we can implement targeted measures to reduce these losses by up to 54%.
Additional services:
Electricity price brake: calculation and transmission of all relevant data, at that time.
Retrofits: detection of a possible increase in the performance curve after commissioning retrofit measures by the OEM
The site value must be determined every five years for installations that are remunerated in the tendering procedure in accordance with the EEG 2017 and subsequently. We offer you a regular estimate of the site quality and the resulting value to be applied (“EEG remuneration rate”) in any period from commissioning to the present day, so that you can better plan provisions and financial effects. The site quality is calculated automatically according to the corresponding status categorisation (in accordance with TR10).

Legal topics
The municipal participation involves a voluntary levy of 0.2 ct/kWh on electricity revenues in order to increase acceptance of renewable energies. Municipalities participate based on their percentage share of the area covered by the ground-mounted PV system or within a radius of 2.5 kilometres of a wind turbine. These municipal levies are reimbursed by the grid operator if the revenues are in line with the EEG. For months outside the EEG, the operator can decide whether or not to pay levies.
Let's work together to increase municipal acceptance of renewable energy plants and thus further advance the energy transition! We support you in, among other things, providing contracts with the municipalities, calculating the proportionate area or percentage levy, reimbursement options and implementing the billing process with the grid operator.
Let us take care of the high coordination and monitoring effort involved in BNK systems so that faults can be quickly identified and rectified.
Ongoing monitoring of the BNK system, including all interfaces

Greenkeeping: With municipal technology and sheep grazing for more yield
Green space maintenance from photovoltaic systems is an important part of operational management in order to prevent shading and ensure sustainably high energy yields. We work with qualified service providers together who use state-of-the-art equipment to mow the photovoltaic systems: The vegetation is expertly removed using flail or forestry mulchers, manually controlled mowing robots or a motorised brush cutter.
As an alternative to municipal technology, we also use a natural method for mowing. By using sheep grazing in combination with rotational grazing, we also contribute to increasing biodiversity in the sites. The sheep carry seeds and pollen in their wool from one solar area to another, thereby supporting natural seeding and increasing biodiversity.
In close co-operation with the authorities, foresters, hunters or gardeners and landscapers, any necessary clearing, pruning or planting along the fencing is carried out in compliance with nature conservation regulations and existing development plans.
If the conditions allow, we ensure a shadow-free environment and thus contribute to increasing energy efficiency.
