As a respected rotor blade full service provider, BayWa r.e. has been certified by Germanischer Lloyd (today DNV GL) as a repairer of fibre composite components since 2000.

All work is executed in compliance with the demanding specification of DNV GL, detailed by material certificates and documentation. This translates into seamlessly certified safety without compromise. Our independent reports are accepted by manufacturers, insurers and planning authorities alike.

We guarantee our customers consistently high quality. Our quality management system has been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 since 2012. Since 2016, our energy management system has also been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2011. The health and safety of our employees is taken into account in all corporate decision-making processes. This is reflected in our DIN EN ISO 45001 certification, which we have held since 2018.

Checks for a trouble-free future

Routine checks, including detailed technical documentation, are the first step in recognising damage to blades and ensuring the reliable performance of your wind turbine. This means that repairs can be carried out in consultation with manufacturers, insurers and operators before the warranty period expires.

Regular inspection of lightning protection systems is also essential and is even required by insurance companies. This is because lightning damage is one of the most frequent causes of operating failures.

Individual services included in periodic checks:

  • Checking the blade shells and inner blade body

  • Inspection of the blade flanges/connection to the hub

  • Inspection of the tip mechanism (if present)

  • Checking the lightning protection system

  • Checking the blade flanges/joints to the hub and the aerodynamic elements

  • Detailed illustrated damage documentation

  • Damage analysis and technical assesments for further optimisation of operating processes
