Renewable Energy Sources Act 2017: the rules of play are changing
Changes to the system brought about by the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) 2017 stipulate auction procedures in order to secure tariffs. The resulting cost pressure, new uncertainties and additional burden of sureties have increased the workload for all involved.
We are convinced that concepts based on partnership are among the most effective means of overcoming these new challenges. This corresponds with our corporate philosophy, too. We strive to promote a healthy, multifarious environment in the renewable energy sector together with our partners.
We have developed five cooperation models to meet the specific requirements of project developers, public utilities and community wind farms. In developing the models, we placed emphasis on their ability to be combined and adapted to suit the requirements of all participants. Furthermore, each model fulfils key criteria for jointly bringing a project to a successful conclusion.
Besides complementing existing expertise through the partnership, this also includes the individual and project-specific allocation of risks and costs. In addition, we can also reduce the burden on our partner's organisation and their personnel as required and in a straightforward manner.
We make your risk manageable. Based on our detailed data and market analysis, our auction team develops the ideal bidding strategy for EEG tendering. If needed, we provide the securities for your auction.
Your contact - Model 1
We participate in your project, bear the project risks and pay upfront. The scope and time of transfer of the project rights are defined jointly with our partner on an individual basis. The services to be provided as part of the project are allocated between both parties, depending on the available personnel resources and willingness to assume risk.
Your contact - Model 2
We bring your project to completion and deliver a turnkey wind farm for a fixed price and, of course, according to the agreed schedule. Our experienced project managers can be contacted at all times, ensuring the fast, smooth and professional completion of your project. We can also offer you interim finance on request.
Your contact - Model 3
Temporary construction department
Depending on when we are appointed, we support you from the early engineering stages through to approval planning. On this basis, we then draw up the engineering production information and draft the tender documents, and are involved in awarding the contracts for all the necessary construction work. We also manage the overall project on your behalf and coordinate all of the interfaces involved.
Your contact - Model 4
With an annual global procurement volume of 240 MW, we have very well-established relationships with, and direct access to, the major wind turbine manufacturers. So we are well placed to purchase the wind turbines for your project as well.
Our contacts, your advantage: you benefit from the favourable procurement and contract terms negotiated by BayWa r.e. to reduce the initial outlay required for your wind farm. Thanks to the supply and maintenance agreements we have in place, we save you time and free resources that would otherwise be tied up in hammering out deals to procure the wind turbines for your project.
