Offshore Wind Energy: a New Area of Growth for BayWa r.e

To overview

Build offshore wind farms with BayWa r.e.

For more than 30 years, we’ve been successfully implementing worldwide onshore wind projects according to the highest quality standards – and reimagining renewable energies. To expand our portfolio, we are now also intensifying our activities in the offshore wind sector.

Our goal: to accelerate the expansion of renewable energies on a larger scale through the construction of offshore wind farms. To achieve this, we can draw on our years of experience in the following sectors:

  • Project development
  • Planning and advice
  • Engineering
  • Financing

We’re pursuing a strategy in offshore wind that builds on both our competences in greenfield development as well as on our existing international presence in markets such as France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and South Korea. We are also working closely with experienced partners from the offshore wind industry.

Why offshore wind farms are interesting for investors

Offshore wind energy offers an established, high-growth market with great possibilities for experienced investors, developers and power plant operators.

Wind energy at sea is already making an important contribution to energy production in Europe. 2019 has been the most successful year so far for wind energy and this trend is set to continue: By 2040, offshore wind farms are expected to be the most important source of power generation in Europe.
