BayWa r.e. has taken over the Service business sector from the German project developer Sybac Solar GmbH.
With the successful acquisition of Sybac Service GmbH, the company acquired Service mandates with a total output of around 300 MW.
“The acquisition strengthens our market position in the German PV market,” comments Christoph Reiners, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services GmbH. “Due to the increasing size and rising number of employees in our O&M business sector, we will not only become more competitive in the segment of technical management through the use of economies of scale, but will also be able to improve our regional presence throughout Germany in the future.” Marc Niem, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services GmbH, adds: “With Sybac Service, we are increasing our real net output ratio. We will consistently expand the field of on-site services in the PV sector as well as in the wind sector.”
As part of the acquisition, all 24 employees of Sybac Service GmbH will be taken over. From the company site in Kehrig near Koblenz as well as from the regional site in Radebeul near Dresden, the experienced specialist staff now strengthens the BayWa r.e Service team and thus ensures additional customer proximity and optimised availability for on-site maintenance.
Sybac Service GmbH will continue to operate independently until further notice. A merger into BayWa r.e. Operation Services GmbH is scheduled for the second quarter in 2018.
Stephan Tarlach, Managing Director of Sybac Solar GmbH adds: “We are pleased that we can bring our many years of Service expertise into BayWa r.e.'s competence network. In the future, BayWa r.e. is to be the preferred service provider of Sybac Solar GmbH for the implementation of our downstream O&M business
activities. It makes sense to combine the activities of two established project developers in order to be prepared for the intensified national and international competition.”
With this latest acquisition, BayWa r.e. also strengthens its position as one of the leading European O&M service providers. BayWa r.e. thus now supervises more than 3 GW of installed plant output.
